FIMG_3601or all of you who lament your perceived lack of creative skills… there is a solution! It’s called Waterlogue, and it is the most fun, wonderful phone application in the world! Basically, you can easily turn almost* any photo into a beautiful watercolor-esque image with just a few easy clicks and swipes. And yes, if you’re like me and obsessive about taking photos, this app can lead you into the black hole of wasting valuable time playing with your cellphone. However, this handy tool can be so very helpful for anyone who is in the business of creating graphics, whether online or in print. Here are a handful of really useful ways that Waterlogue can be used:

  • Logos;
  • Facebook cover photos (personal or business);
  • Website graphics
  •  Online or hard copy flyers and brochures;
  • Instead of using boring stock photos, use a photo of your own (or even a stock photo that you own the rights to) and turn it into; an artistic rendering;
  • Art for your personalized notes (personal or business);
  • Menu art;
  • Tshirts, tote-bags, coffee mugs, clothing items;
  • Etc. etc. etc.

I put together a gallery of some of the images that I’ve created, using my own photos and Waterlogue:

*One type of photo that does not usually lend itself to a Waterlogue transition is the portait. Don’t believe me? Try it yourself. I promise you will laugh.

The app can be purchased for Apple devices on iTunes. It costs $2.99. So worth it.
